From 5 to 19 October the Foundation for Access to Rights - FAR realized a fundraising campaign in support of Angela, a single refugee mother and her son Enam.
Angela came to Bulgaria in 2016 and gave birth to her son here in 2017. They have been through the Bulgarian asylum procedures multiple times but they have not yet been granted protection status. Angela works and Enam goes to kindergarten.
For several months, however, Enam started having health problems. The doctors referred Enam to several exams, but the diagnosis is still not clear. In the meantime the doctors have prescribed expensive medicine that the mother has to pay for (the last medical prescription cost 110.56 levs). Angela also pays rent (400 levs per month), food (approximately 350 levs per month) and Enam’s kindergarten fee (60 levs per month). Angela’s monthly salary is 800 levs, but this is only when she is not absent from work. All these expenses are unbearable for the single mother.
The Foundation for Access to Rights - FAR on behalf of Angela and Enam would like to thank all the 26 persons who donated in the campaign. With your help a total of 1830 levs were collected.
On 20 October 2021, we personally handed over the sum to the mother. You can hear the words of gratitude in the audio recording that she sent us. We thank you sincerely!
