Sami is from Aleppo city, Syria. He graduated from the University of Arts in Syria, Department of simultaneous translation from English to Arabic and vice versa.
In 2013, when the situation in Syria became very difficult because of the civil war, he applied for university education in Bulgaria and came to Bulgaria in 2014 as a university student. He was hoping that after completing his studies it would be safe for him to return to his country. However, the war was still ongoing and Sami applied for asylum in Bulgaria, and became a refugee in 2017.
He has been working in customer service companies since then and has solid experience in the field of customer support. Embarking on a career in the humanitarian field is an opportunity for him to make a difference.
As a refugee in Bulgaria, he knows well what difficulties refugees face at the beginning of their new life, and is eager to help them overcome these hardships.
