The Foundation for Access to Rights – FAR contributed its legal expertise to a Regional Hybrid Meeting held on 26 February 2026 in Sofia, as part of the EU co-funded project "Functionally Sustainable Migration and Integration in Bulgaria" (FUMI in Bulgaria). Dr. Valeria Ilareva served as moderator of the event, while attorney Magdalena Miteva delivered a legal presentation on hiring foreign nationals in Bulgaria — in line with FAR's role as external expert subcontractor providing legal expertise across the project's events.
The meeting was organized by CEED Bulgaria in partnership with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and brought together employers, legal professionals, and stakeholders to discuss current challenges and opportunities in labour migration and integration. The programme included a presentation of the FUMI project, a demonstration of the third-country nationals hiring platform, and current research findings shared by BCCI.
Attorney Miteva's presentation covered the conditions, procedures, and recent legislative developments related to hiring foreign nationals in Bulgaria, generating substantive discussion among participants. The event closed with a panel discussion on best practices and sustainable models for labour migration and integration.
