Maria Monge-Navarro started her three-month traineeship at Foundation for Access to Rights - FAR in March 2023 through international traineeships program of the European Law Students' Association (ELSA).
Maria is a third-year Bachelor's Global Law student at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. She has a keen interest in International Law of Armed Conflict and Refugee and Migration Law. She is currently writing her thesis project with a focus on the principle of non-refoulement in the modern migration context and hopes to pursue a Master's in International Security in the upcoming Autumn Semester of 2023.
During her studies, Maria has contributed to discussions on Human Rights, International Humanitarian Law and the Rule of Law as part of her role in ELSA as Vice President for Academic Activities at the local level in Tilburg (2021-2022), and at the National level in the Netherlands (2022-2023).
